Its stone structures, surrounded by turquoise water and white sand, make it the most picturesque archaeological site in the Riviera Maya.<\/p>\n<h3>Snorkeling with Turtles in Akumal<\/h3>\n<p>After the ruins, we head to Akumal, whose Mayan name means \u201cplace of turtles.\u201d In its shallow bay, sea turtles feed on seagrass, so you\u2019re very likely to swim right alongside them.<\/p>\n<p>Akumal is one of the best places in the Riviera Maya for family snorkeling, with calm beaches and a hands-on experience with nature.<\/p>\n<p>A certified guide accompanies you all day.
