Somos Dive-X is a center PADI in Playa del Carmen. We take you to the reef, to the cenotes, to Cozumel, and from November to March, we take you to swim with the sharks bull sharks.

We work with small groups, bilingual instructors, and a clear priority: that you dive safely and enjoy every minute underwater. We are located in Playacar and in two hotels on the Riviera Maya, and we collaborate with all-inclusive hotels.

Frequently asked questions about diving in Playa del Carmen

With Dive-X, the diving baptism costs from 160 USD per person (2 dives). Two dives in Cozumel, 195 USD. With bull sharks, 165 USD for the sighting and 195 USD for the attraction. The price includes the equipment.

Yes. The scuba diving course is designed for those who have never dived before: you first practice in the pool with an instructor PADI and then you do two dives in the reef. The minimum age to participate in the activity is 13 years old.

You can scuba dive all year round. From November to March is the season for diving bull sharks. The rest of the year, the reefs, Cozumel, and the cenotes remain excellent.

It depends on what you’re looking for. The reef in Playa del Carmen is the most comfortable to start with. Cozumel is a favorite among certified divers for its walls and transparency. The cenote other experience is freshwater, light, and rock formations. If you’re unsure, write to us on WhatsApp and we’ll recommend one based on your level.

They bull sharks are calm animals that do not see the diver as prey. The trips are conducted with expert guides, a preliminary briefing, and clear rules. Diving bull sharks is only for certified divers. Choose sighting if you want to observe them from a distance, or attraction if you want to see them up close.

Yes, in Playa del Carmen downtown and in hotels on the Riviera Maya. We work with several all-inclusive hotels.

If we cancel the activity due to bad weather, a port closure by the Harbor Master or for safety reasons, you choose between a new date or a full refund.

The three most important: always breathe continuously and never hold your breath; always dive with a partner or guide; and plan your dive by respecting your limits and going up slowly. Your instructor will explain them to you before you enter the water.

Had good dives with them. Small groups and good pick up service. Everything in a friendly manner. Highlights: Cozumel and Dos Ojos Cenote.

The current rating of 4.9 on this place is ludicrous. If you have dove with any other diving centre you would recognize that this is a bad diving centre. I felt like it was the  equivalent of a puppy mill - get you in and out as fast as possible. Multiple bcd leaks, dive master asked remaining air only 1-2 times per dive, limited dives to 45 minutes, less than 15 minutes between dives. Meh.
